How we help
Since 1903, we have been the umbrella body for Swiss charities for the blind and have been committed to ensuring that blind, deafblind, visually impaired and hearing and visually impaired people can live to their full potential and as independently as possible.
The main services of SNABLIND are
- Developing and selling aids for visually impaired, blind and hearing and visually impaired people at fair prices.
- Advice and support, together with education and leisure activities, for people with deafblindness and hearing and visual impairments.
- Training for specialists who work with visually impaired, blind and hearing and visually impaired people with and without multiple disabilities.
- Low vision advice and training in using optical aids (for example magnifying spectacles and reading devices).
- Research into blindness, visual impairment, hearing and visual impairment and deafblindness.
- Coordination of the cooperation between organisations for visually impaired people and the representation of their interests.
- Specialist library on the subjects of blindness, deafblindness, visual impairment and visual and hearing impairment.

Working at SNAB
We are a modern and fair employer with many interesting and challenging tasks for different professionals. As a nationally active umbrella organisation, more than 60 employees at around 7 locations are committed to the concerns of blind, visually impaired, hearing impaired and deafblind people. We use our professional competences in a resource- and needs-oriented way so that these people can determine their own lives and shape them in their own responsibility.
